Job Posting: Family Caregiver
Position: Family Caregiver (NOC 44101)
Location: Markham, Ontario, L3S 2C6
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay: $21.00 per hour
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Family Caregiver to support two elderly family members in Markham, Ontario. In this role, you will help enhance their quality of life by providing companionship and assisting with daily activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Companionship: Provide engaging companionship, social interaction, and emotional support to ensure a fulfilling daily experience.
- Personal Care Assistance: Help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Nutrition and Meal Preparation: Prepare healthy meals tailored to preferences and assist with feeding as needed, while ensuring proper hydration.
- Activity Support: Encourage participation in hobbies and social activities that promote well-being and enjoyment.
- Monitoring Well-Being: Observe and communicate any changes in mood or behavior to family members, ensuring they remain comfortable and content.
- Household Management: Assist with light housekeeping tasks, manage laundry, and help with organizing personal belongings.
- Safety and Comfort: Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment, ensuring the home is organized and secure.
Qualifications:
· The applicant must have completed a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting at least three months but less than one year in a relevant field such as Health Aide, Home Attendant, Personal Support Worker, or another related caregiver program.
· The applicant must have at least one year of full-time experience within the last three years providing care to elderly individuals in a home setting.
· The applicant must possess a valid and verifiable First Aid & CPR certificate.
· The applicant must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
· The applicant must be physically capable of performing tasks that involve assisting with mobility, lifting, and supporting the elderly individual during daily activities.
· The applicant must be able to follow detailed care plans and instructions provided by family members or healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of the elderly person.
· The applicant must demonstrate compassion, patience, reliability, and a strong commitment to supporting elderly individuals with dignity and respect.
